ephemeral hurts

When it’s not possible to protect the people you love and make things better, you grab onto the good moments when you can.

I like JusticeKirby!

‘Reading the description of civilized interchange about governmental and political matters in the reasons of Heydon J, I had difficult in recognizing the Australian political system as I know it.  His Honour’s chronicle appears more like a description of an intellectual salon where civility always (or usually) prevails.  It is not, with respect, an accurate description of the Australian governmental and political system in action.’

Possibilities After A Happy Sunday

I am faithless
as the last lover

catching infidelity
as easily as leaning forward
and glancing

unflinching in the quick turning
gaze of a proposition

knowing well
this is not happiness

but I'm like the Asian BJ!

Elizabeth Wurtzel has argued that women would do better to develop more 'impersonal' obsessions, as opposed to those related to appearance, health, relationships.  In effect, she has suggested provocatively, women would be happier if they were less like Bridget Jones and more like the trainspotter protagonists of Nick Hornby’s novels.

this from the twenty year old who doesn't have her license

As I was growing up, my mother like to tell me that every woman needs an education and a car.  (The education was something no one could ever take away from you, while a car could take you away from anywhere you suddenly didn't want to be.)
